Snowshoe Killarney (beginner friendly!)

In search of the elusive snowflake, we are now off to Killarney!
The difficulty of the trip is not so much in the distance planned, or even the trails. It is backpacking in winter, setting up camp and doing all the survival things required in winter camping (preparing water, staying warm at camp).
The enjoyment of doing this in winter?? Wandering through the quiet woods, under snow-laden branches. No sound but your own breathing and snowshoes tromping down into pure white, untouched snow...
Costs: $25 or so for gas per person (to be determined by drivers)
Camping: $11.75 per person (cash only as it is self registration at the park this time of year)
Gear: There is no place to rent gear--unless someone knows of something... so you will need your own sleeping bag and snowshoes, or borrow from someone.
Winter Camping Essentials:
-minus 20 or warmer sleeping bag
-sleeping pad
-tent (or buddy up)
-snowshoes and winter hiking boots
-stove, fuel (or buddy up), pot for making food and preparing water from snow
-thermos or 2 (so drinking water doesn't freeze :) )
-a good warm winter (down) coat for camp
-extra boots or expedition booties (down knee-high slippers) for camp after snowshoeing
