Geocache camping Lingham Lake trail

Fri, Mar 29, 2013 · 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM · Cooper

Lingham lake trail is our geocaching adventure destination for Easter weekend 2013. The plan is to leave Kitchener around 2:30pm on Friday and drive the 300-350km through the towns of Madoc and Cooper to a geocaching power trail on Lingham Lake rd. The parking area is N44.41.842 W77.24.055.

We aim to arrive at the parking coordinates around 6pm. We will then look for an area to set up our tents and camp for the night. The next morning we will set out on the linear trail to Bushwacker (GC2B27) our target geocache. This geocache is one of the oldest in Ontario and a "must find" for many cachers. After finding Bushwacker we will return and hunt for the rest of the caches we passed on the way in. There are 50+ caches along the power trail so stops will be frequent.

Total hiking distance will be OVER 25km and there will be at least one water crossing so most of our gear will be returned to the vehicles before the geocaching hike. The trail can be muddy and rocky so wear appropriate footwear.

Recommended gear for geocaching: handheld GPS loaded with the cache data, headlamp, sturdy hiking footwear, pen, extra batteries, water and snacks. Visit www.geocaching.com to create a free or premium geocaching profile and download cache data to your GPS. You can also use a geocaching App if you have a smartphone.
