--I had a chap, who used to work as a guide, show me a more leisurely route down the French River that is quite scenic. There are no rapids or anything hostile, unless u consider a gentle waterfall hostile.
This trip will take place on September 13, 14 and 15.
Friday night--camp at Grundy Lake-Popular campground site 301
Saturday--Leave from Hartley Bay Marina (705) 857-2038 obtain backcountry permits and rent canoes 30 dollars a day--I recommend you do this ahead of time. Parking at Hartley Bay Marina is 10 a day
-Head past bager lake and down the french channel. The waterfalls are downriver near the visitor centre
-Backtrack slightly to sites 522, 521
Sunday- Retrace our steps to the Marina
Appro costs--campsite 55.07 canoe rental 30 a day, parking 10 dollars a day
I have one camp site booked, and will book more if necessary. Everyone can remburise me for the camp site booking at Grundy Lake.
