Carving A Greenland Paddle

Sat, Aug 13, 2016 · 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM · Location not recorded

Come join me, Tom P, and build your own Greenland paddle under the guidance of Tom Froese of TandJ Paddles.

Tom has been building custom paddles and teaching the method for over ten years. His paddles are shipped worldwide and currently in the hands of some of the top paddlers in the world. This is your opportunity to step into the wonderful world of hand-crafted paddles. You do not have to paddle a Greenland kayak in order to use a Greenland paddle!

This course has a nominal fee of $120, which covers the cost of the approximately four hour course and material used to build your very own Greenland paddle. A cash payment can be made on the day of the course.

For more information and to see some of Tom's amazing work, check out the TandJ Paddle website:

For logistics of guidance and being able to build a proper paddle, there is a three person limit to this morning session. If enough interest is shown, a second afternoon session (starting at 2pm) may be added.

This course will be held behind my rental unit out in the country just east of Townline Rd. in Cambridge, so bring snacks, food, drinks and whatever else you need to make your day comfortable. You’ll have the respectful use of the facilities and apartment as needed. If anyone wants to barbeque, or heat up food, that can easily be accommodated. Details on Parking will follow as it may be a bit congested.
