Mike’s Excellent Winter Camping Adventure, reprise

Sat, Feb 27, 2021 · 11:00 AM – Sun, Feb 28 · Location not recorded

THE TRIP IS NOW FULL. IF YOU’RE INTERESTED IN ATTENDING, HAVE YOUR NAME ON THE WAITLIST BECAUSE IF SOMEONE BAILS, THAT’S WHERE I’LL LOOK FOR A REPLACEMENT

Ok, March 2nd I'm going to lose a kidney (boo...) and its tumour (yay..), which the surgeon says will definitely affect my near-term activity schedule. So, one last winter trip - a going-away party for my kidney. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice, or to Mike's continuing adventure of acquiring ultralight camping gear. One does not simply stop buying camping gear.

Again, I’m thinking of six hikers, with a mix of experience levels, and yes, we can provide some assistance and gear to those newish to winter camping.

We'll head up Saturday for some crown land camping, where we make our own site and the price is right. We’ll go for a day-hike Sunday, then pack up, and be back home that evening. Snowshoes will be required, and pulks are an option for those so inclined.

Trip details and an organizing spreadsheet will be sent by email. No pets on this trip, thanks. Your RSVP puts you on the Waitlist. I'll contact you to discuss your winter camping experience and gear requirements, then I change your RSVP to ‘Going’.

Your RSVP indicates your agreement with the terms of the Co-Participant Understanding at https://www.meetup.com/KW-Backcountry/messages/boards/thread/52807358

There's always someone to lend a hand on KWBT Meetups, but you are responsible for your own transportation, food, gear, personal safety and COVID risk. You can DM me with any questions through Meetup.
