Backcountry Canoe Trip in Algonquin Provincial Park

Thu, Aug 25, 2022 · 7:00 PM – Mon, Aug 29 · Algonquin Provincial Park

The trip is full.

About time we posted a canoe trip, and North Tea Lake it is, and a paddle up the beautiful Amable du Fond River.

This is a beginner-level trip, including two short portages each way, 5-6 hours of paddling out and back - an ideal trip for a newbie to be introduced to the backcountry. Four canoes, eight paddlers.

It’s an extended weekend trip. We drive up Thursday any time and camp at the outfitter’s place outside the Park. Friday morning we paddle in to North Tea and set up our weekend base camp. Saturday and Sunday we tour the area. Monday we’re back to the cars by late afternoon.

Canoes and all kinds of gear can be easily rented at the outfitters. Trip details and an organizing spreadsheet will be sent later by email. No pets on this trip, thanks.

The total camping fee will be $50 each, and no charge for parking. Your RSVP puts you on the Waitlist. I’ll contact you to discuss your canoeing experience, and I change your RSVP to ‘Going’. I’ll ensure that canoe-camping newbies are paired with experienced paddlers.

Your RSVP indicates your agreement with the terms of the Co-Participant Understanding.

There's always someone to lend a hand on KWBT Meetup trips, but you are responsible for your own transportation, food, gear, and personal safety. You can DM me with any questions through this Meetup app.
