Backcountry Canoe Trip in Algonquin Provincial Park

Wed, Jul 24, 2024 · 8:00 PM – Sun, Jul 28 · Algonquin Provincial Park

Update: the trip is now full. If you’re interested in attending, have your name on the Waitlist because if someone has to bail, that’s where I’ll look for a replacement.

We need another canoe trip! so North Tea Lake it is, and a paddle up the beautiful Amable du Fond River.

This is a beginner-level trip, including two short portages each way, 5-6 hours of paddling out and back - an ideal trip for a newbie to be introduced to the backcountry. Four canoes.

We drive up Wednesday any time and camp at the outfitter’s. Thursday morning we paddle in to North Tea and set up our weekend base camp. Friday and Saturday, we explore the area. Sunday we’re back to the cars by late afternoon.

The total camping fee is $70 each, including parking. Canoes and all kinds of gear can be rented at the outfitters. Trip details and an organizing spreadsheet will be sent later by email. No pets on this trip, thanks.

Upon posting this trip, I tell the Meetup software the trip is full, so your RSVP puts you on the Waitlist and indicates your agreement with the terms of the Co-Participant Understanding. Following your RSVP, your next step is to contact me, by Meetup message or email, to discuss your experience level and related info. I’ll ensure that canoe-camping newbies are paired with experienced paddlers.

There's always someone to lend a hand on KWBT Meetup trips, but you are responsible for your own transportation, food, gear, and personal safety. You can DM me with any questions through this Meetup app.
