Canoe & camp on Oxtongue river

Oxtongue river flows across the southwest boundary of Algonquin Prov park and runs along the north side of HWY60. Although in proximity with the road, it is fairly secluded and provides a backcountry feel, with occasional spotting of moose and turtles.
We will start off at Canoe lake campground and follow the river to Oxtongue lake. For those who need to rent, the outfitters will be right at the takeout. It's a 2 day trip and we can set camp midway at the split rock rapids. There are 8 portages, some very short and the longest 240m. It is within Algonquin park, so park fees will apply.
