Winter camping & snowshoeing

Reimagining Beringia, mode of travel? Ice age.

Fri, Jan 4, 2013 · 3:00 PM – Sun, Jan 6 · Algonquin Provincial Park

Julie on the blue blaze trail.

Due to the failure of CO2 sequestering, the disappointment of fusion power, and the silliness of global engineering's seeding the stratosphere with sulfuric oxide, on average, winters are a thing of the past in southern Ontario.

Be that as it may, seize the day and contribute to global warming by joining our weekend commute to Ontario's northern winter wonderland. Re-imagine the first inhabitants chasing their next reindeer steak across Beringia, and thus populating modern day suburbia.

Destination? Spur of the moment. Drive north until snow cover is sufficient for the ancient art of snowshoeing. Educated guess? The Western Uplands Algonquin Hiking Trail with a trajectory of Oak Lake Nature Preserve, the remnant beaver dam capital of Ontario.
